Virtual London boat show postponed
The virtual London Boat Show, set to take place with an Earls Court backdrop in January, has been postponed to 2022.
The COVID situation and general uncertainty in the marine industry, because of cancellations of other boat shows, as well as severe economic problems, has meant the show will be postponed.
Andy Beharrell, one of the organisers from UK Boat Show, said marine companies could not commit to the show while the possibility of a physical show was still in the balance but he said it was great that so many exhibitors were so enthusiastic about a virtual show.
‘Companies from boat builders to electronics to chandlery and charterers have had a very hard time this year with virtually no income. It is hard to take on a new concept in that sort of scenario’.
‘Without exception, all potential exhibitors were very positive about the idea of a virtual show and most said they would be interested in a show for 2022. Spending money in this current climate was difficult.’
